so I'm pretty severely overweight and i suffer from severe "butt acne"..... does anyone else have this problem? i get pimples/boils all over my behind and also on my inner thighs. its not just one or two here or there, they are EVERYWHERE. i take pride in my big booty but when the clothes come off its just embarassing.

does anyone else have this problem?? do any SKINNY people have this problem?? i wonder if it has anything to do with being overweight? overactive pores? too much sweat? i cant afford to see a dermatologist or anything for definite answers, so i thought id bring it here to see if anyone else might have this problem.

would love to hear from u! thanks.

You can try dry brushing your skin and a soak in a bath with epsom salt. That may help you out.

Not personally, but my teeny tiny stick of a roommate had it bad (I never saw her bum, she just liked to share too much). She used cortisone cream for it

It can be caused by rubbing clothes (if they are little bumps) and more seriously, high blood sugar if they are boils. For the little bumps, exfoliate in the shower with a loofah or scrub and then use a cream on the area that contains lactic acid (the pharmacist should be able to point you in the right direction).

Don't let this scare you at all, I am not a doc. I remember someone close to me saying they had a type of herpes that manifested itself just as you described, as blemishes on her rear end. Perhaps you should ask a dermatologist for some advice. I'm sure they can treat whatever it is you're suffering from. Good luck!

I have a guy friend who had the same problem, and I pointed out that it was in areas that never saw sun. He went to the tanning beds (although I know it is terrible for you) but something about the UV light fixed the problem after a few short sessions. I'm not usually an advocate for tanning beds but it helped his skin condition. Its really unfortunate you can't just see a dermatologist :/

Make sure to exfoliate this area - even dry rubbing it with a towel will help. Keep it dry and, when possible and appropriate, expose to to the air. Unless the skin there is particularly dry already, then using a light dusting of talc in your underwear will help a little also.

If you wax or shave around there then it might be a case of razor bumps. If you have someone in your life who doesn't mind then get them to have a look to see if it really is acne or razor bumps.

The hubs doesn't have this problem, but as a chef in a hot kitchen, chafe is an issue. He uses cornstarch down his boxers. It's very inexpensive and works to keep things dry and chafe free.

My BFF has this problem...she gets boils bad in all the wrong areas, under her boobs, butt, around her Vajj....the doctor told her that she could go on a certain med. but would have to also take birth control because the med could cause birth defects if she got prego, she did want to do that so his other advice was for her to take bleach bathes 1 a month. She does do that and she says it seems to helps. I think she does like 1 cup of bleach to a tub of water.

I don't have this problem but I do know someone who used to, as well as on her back, and like a previous poster said, tanning helped. I'm not talking crazy turn orange or anything, but once or twice a week to go for 10 minutes or something seemed to help her out a lot!
