Confused on net calories?

So pretty much my goal is 1470 calories a day. I took in 1532 calories in food today; however, I burned 650 calories at the gym today. So according to the myfitnesspal, i have a net calories of 882 (and 588 calories remaining for the day).
Is that a good thing or bad thing? I heard that having a positive number is bad?
Thanks for any replies!

If you are using MFP to calculate your calories, then you should eat all of most of those extra calories.
If you are using another method to calculate them, then exercise is probably already included and you don't need to eat any more.
Most people can lose weight very steadily eating at a moderate deficit and doing a bit exercise.
So, as long as you are logging your food and exercise reasonably accurately, your goal should be to have 0 cals left at the end of the day. Having said that, I don't think it matters if you are a bit under or over, everything we enter is an estimate and they will balance out.0 -
