Ok,i heard that doing squats burns TONS of calories and i did a bunch today along with a bunch of other strength training workouts and when i go to add them to my daily "food and workout diary" ill fill out the sets and reps i did w/the amount of weight i used, but it wont say i burned any calories..kinda frustrating...anyone have a suggestion?

This comes up about 12 times a day. Don't worry theres an easy fix. Record strength training under cardio.

I'm not sure exactly why, but I know that it doesn't figure calories burned. It's like it's more of a log to keep track of what you've done. In order to get credit for calories burned, you have to list it under cardio, but you can include strength training in the name. I use my HRM to determine calories burned and just plug in the information I get from that. In order to do so, you have to create your own exercise, unless MFP already has something similar with the correct amount of calorie burn in the database. I just click on the "My Exercises" tab and then choose "Create Exercise" to enter my information.

It is in the database under cardio, I think it's either weight training or strength training.
