Mom of an 8 month old with no excuses left....

Hi there!

I am a mom to a darling boy and a wife to a wonderful husband. When i fell pregnant, i was already 13 kilograms overweight. After my son was born i weighed in at 104 kilograms. I have managed to lose 9 kilograms on my own but the 16 kilograms + 13 kilograms is staying put due to my lazy button the couch and bad eating habits.

I have decided that i have had enough of being fat and i'm making an effort to be healthy and slim down.

Any suggestions will be so welcome. Especially from other new moms.

    Hi I am not a new mom now but was..... my youngest is almost 18 months. But when I came to the decison to change I decided I had to no excuses! I could not afford that gym (well actually it was the additional costs for babysitting......) so I took charge and started walking at the mall. I have access to a wonderfully large mall making it easy to walk for a very long time. I look in shop windows and decide which store I will be shoping at sooner rather than later. I wear a pedometer daily I try to exceed 10 000 steps a day, and I use my fitness pal daily to log in food. Love it, all this combined is working for me. I kick it up a notch and run up and down the stairs at the mall as well, (generally I try to go before the mall is open, most malls open early and there are lots of people who mall walk) now with nice weather I change it up a bit and go outside as well. I always have my stroller with me so I can take my babies with me. I love the pedometer it gives me a reminder all the time that I need to move more. I set new goals and try to increase my steps all the time. Feel free to add me as a friend. :smile:
