Has anyone read the book Don't Take No for an Answer: 5 Proven Steps That Get You to Yes?
Apparently it has a pretty high rating on Amazon and it is a good tool when it comes to those who's businesses deal clients directly.

Knowing how my mind works, I would have thought the same seeing the title of this thread lol

But yeah, I'm think this would be interesting. I'm a massage therapist and usually potential clients are skeptical about how massage can help them recover form pain, or even worse, they'd rather spend money partying but not in their health. So if this book can actually help me to get them hire me for massages (which they won't be disappointed), I'm sure as hell I'll give it a try.

Sounds like it could help you out quite a bit on maybe being more out going and knowing what to say to get people to invest in a massage. It doesnt take much for me to invest in one, lol

    Great minds think alike!

If only everyone was like you  I'd have a huge clientele. I'm really good at what I do, I just need the approval to put my hands on the person and I'll eliminate the tension and the doubts if is worth it lol.

I don't! I can't stand it, I can't be the only one? Having someone's hands on my back is a nightmare *shudder*

I can see how it's relaxing for other people though. Just not me :indifferent:

Good luck growing your base of clients OP! I almost became a masseuse until I realised that actually, I don't even like touching other people!

    Thank you :)

And lol @ being a nightmare for you if someone touches your back. Honestly, there have been only 2 therapists that have made me fall asleep and not want to get up from the table. Everyone else, have been from "ok" to "get away from me" The part that sucks the most is, that unless the therapist is really good and make me fall asleep, I'll pick them appart in my mind finding all the things they're doing wrong :glasses:

mommy2AR, this is something I learned during a seminar I took, when a client is ticklish I ask them to hold my arm (it is kind of hard when I'm by the feet and the person is laying down though, but it applies to any area of the body that's ticklish, and by holding my arm, the tickle feeling should diminish or disappear completely

Well, I know how people are when it comes about feet, and because I don't want to get kicked, I always ask what areas they don't want to be touched lol

Forearm I mean  It would actually be weird if they try to grab my arm to avoid being ticklish
