Increased calories and now starving all the time

I increased my calories from 1200 to just over 1400 due to the fact that in 4 weeks of "dieting" I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks then NOTHING for the last 2 weeks.
So after some research on here I upped my calories. Its only been 2 days, but I am now starving!
I ate dinner 45 minutes ago and my tummy is already getting rumbly. Its not thirst as I drink 12 big cups a day. Its really hunger and today wasnt even a running day. Could it be because I upped my calories? Could it be my metabolism picking up because I am eating calories better suited to what I need?
On one hand Im kind of happy, as at least its telling me my metabolism is maybe picking up but on the other hand I didnt feel this hungry at 1200 calories a day. Any thoughts?

The same thing happened for me. I lost about 12 lbs on 1200 a day, and then stopped for a month. I increased to 1500, and did that for a little over a week. After I had raised my cal's, and gotten my metabolism up, I decreased again, and started losing. It took a couple weeks tho. I totally noticed being hungrier tho on the 1500 a day. I agree that it was metabolism, and it is probably a sign that more calories are healthier. I'm increasing again this week just so my body doesn't stop losing weight again.0

Not sure of the answer and I haven't done it personally BUT aparently when you increase your calories you will get a temporary increase in weight while your body adjusts. Not sure if you are expecting this or not but thought I'd mention so you don't freak out if you weigh and it's higher.
Apparently it should go back down shortly though when your body goes back to losing.0
