Working out with small knee injury

This morning I fell down the stairs and I banged my knee pretty badly in to the wall. Normally I go to the gym at night and use the elliptical trainer and run roughly 45 minutes however this will be quite difficult today. Is there someone who could suggest some other exercises to do as I am waiting with doing weight till I have had my appointment with a personal trainer later this week.
