I do cardio and weight training every time I visit the gym at least 4-5 x's a week. Since muscle weighs more than fat, would your weight go down when stepping on the scale, or do you just measure by how clothes fit?

I am also weight training, I have noticed my weight go up a little. What I have been told is that it will go up at first when you build the muscle, but the more muscle you build the more calories you burn all day long (even sleeping!!) So it should actually speed up your weight loss eventually. Hopefully I start seeing that soon!!

Well, adding muscle can distort any measurements based
on weight loss, so using a scale while weight training probably
won't give you the results you are looking for. That doesn't mean
your body isn't changing for the better though. If your gym has
Body Fat % scales then I would use those to see how you are
progressing. You can also use measurements to track progress
as well as overall stamina increases (I.E. lifting more, doing more
reps, or being able to cardio for longer periods)

And also, adding muscle will allow your body to burn more calories
and burn them more efficiently, so it's almost always good to add muscle
to your body, as even when at rest, muscle burns calories. And when you
weight train, your muscles burn calories for hours after you finish while
    repairing and increasing in mass.
