Whey Protein Questions

I'm thinking of using whey protein shakes as a means of hitting my daily protein requirements, but I have a few questions first....
Are there any sugar alcohols in whey protein? I have huge stomach issues when I consume sugar alcohols (even if it's just from sugar free gum) and would like to avoid those at all costs.
Also, I try to eat more "whole foods" (think paleo style) when I can. Is whey protein a highly processed food??
I have fairly little to lose (about 14 lbs) and I'm really trying hard to get in more protein....it's just hard to do unless I'm eating chicken breasts 4 times/day...
Thoughts? Any women with any whey protein experience?

Personally I like whey protein but think I need to find a different brand because the one I like might have more sugar than I want right now. Sugar alcohols are the ones that end it -ol? Right? So you'd need to look at the label for each kind to see if it contains maltitol, sorbitol, whatever. They're all going to vary. Also, if you're doing strict paleo (no dairy) I don't think whey (dairy) protein would be your first pick, and it is a processed food. I'm not sure what the distinction is between processed and highly processed. But yeah, I like my whey protein shakes lol!0
