I ended up walking the whole route but I did finish!! I was the last one in listening to the cheers of all the others that finished ahead of me. What a supportive group they were! Every one of them encouraging me along the last km.

I am going to seriously start training this week for the next one in July. I want to be able to at least run part if not all of the next one.

My finishers medal is proudly hanging on my livingroom mirror!!

have you looked into the couch to 5k program? It is wonderful. If you have a smart phone it is a free app you can download, if not, just google it and you will find all the details. In case you are unfamiliar with it, it takes you from being a non-runner to running the entire length in about 9 weeks.

No matter what you do, good luck, and congrats on your first!

Pretty soon you'll have a collection of medals.

Gradually work your way into running, don't rush things - most running injuries are a result of too much, too soon, too fast. Listen to your body and be consistent.

By far, runners are the most supportive group of people out there. They are always encouraging. Always ready to give you a thumbs-up.

    Congrats on your success.

Just remember ... and you heard it from me ... running is addictive. Soon you'll be signed up for a 10K. Then a half marathon. One day you'll be slapping a 26.2 sticker on the back of your vehicle. True. It's a sneaky little habit.
