high carbs or high proteins?

I was looking at the runners diet (since I'm a runner) and it said that I should be eating 50% carbs 25% proteins and 25% fats

my question is, won't I gain weight from all that carb consumption? I thought I should eat more protein than carbs if anything :S

pleaase help!!

    Will you be in a calorie deficit or surplus?

    The default settings here are close enough.

    Are you going to be doing distance running, like Marathon training? Or just 5K a day? Because 5K is not enough to worry about a specific "runner's" diet.

    I run every day for 20 mins (HIIT) training..
    usually 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off
    or 20 seconds off and 30 seconds on

    orr I'll just go on a regular for 30-40 mins
