ultrasound gel and HRM readings?

I bought my HRM off amazon and when I searched by price, a few ultrasound gels came up as suggested purchased with it. I worked out with my HRM a few times and wet the sensor like the reviews said, but it usually didn't pick up anything on the watch till after I got a good sweat going.

So I bought the ultrasound gel and wound up using it today. Normally, my HRM with it reading the way I described, gives me anywhere between 350-400 calories burned. I was in a super bad mood at the gym today because my dog woke me up at 4am and kind of had like, a RAGE work out and I'm feeling it now.

With the ultrasound gel, it gave me a reading of about 700. I worked out for a little over an hour and do cardio, heavy lifting, and stretching.

Does anyone else use the gel and know if that's accurate??

I use cream and it picks up my heart rate right away. Im sure the gel would work great. Anything to keep those sensors wet.
I think a 700 calorie burn in an hour is accurate.
