Carbs and beans.....

I want to do a low carb dinner most nights and I thought that I could have beans every night with my dinner. I have read that beans are very good for you and a great source of fiber. I know that they have carbs but aren't they the exception cause of the high fiber content? For example, tonight I am having boneless skinless chicken thighs, green beans, carrots, and red beans. When I logged it, it said a little over 300 calories and 30 grams of carbs. So, are beans good to have with dinner every night instead of really starchy carbs like mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta?

I don't eat carrots much but sometimes I like to mix them with my green beans. Just wondering if it's a good idea to eat beans with my dinner every night..... like have a meat, vegetable (other than mashed potatoes), and beans. BTW, I love mashed potatoes but I want to cut down on them with dinner until I get done to where I want to be.
