Who is your biggest supporter? How did you meet?

My friends all know how wonderful my husband is to me. He is genuinely proud of the progress I make and really loves me no matter what. If I want something, I have it, no questions asked. I am one lucky woman, seriously. This morning, after reading a post I made, one friend asked how I met my husband. I thought it would be nice to share it here as well, and get some more cool "How I met my biggest supporter" stories... It doesn't have to be your spouse, it could be anyone. Mine is my husband, but my 19 year old son comes in a really close second. But nobody wants to hear about how I gave birth to him. LOL

How I met my husband! Ok, I am a gamer. I have always played MMORPG's. Asheron's Call, EQ, WoW, Rift! Back when I played EQ (Everquest), I met a friend in the game and started hanging around with her. We ran dungeons, quested and had a ton of fun for the first 6 months we "knew" each other. We were best 'in game' friends. There came a time I wished I could move somewhere else. She said "Move to NYC with me. I could use a room mate". I asked a few silly questions..."Are you a serial killer?"...No..."Are you a weirdo?"...No..."Are you really a 38 year old woman, living in NYC?"...Again, I must answer no!...Turned out that my best in game friend and confidant was indeed a 38 year old MAN living in NYC. It just never came up, I didn't ask, he didn't tell.

We started talking on the phone and emailing for the next few months, still not seeing each other. I had 60 hours a month on my cell phone. He sent a round trip ticket to NYC from Po-dunk Arkansas for the week of 4th of July in 2004. I went, with much resistance from my mom. lol We already loved each other, without ever seeing each other. The first time I saw him was when I stepped off the plane in Newark International Airport and saw a tall, bald guy holding roses, standing there smiling at me. We took a long taxi ride back into the city, where he lived in Midtown Manhattan in a nice apartment. We spent the week sightseeing and playing tourist. The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, the Guggenheim, China Town, it was awesome! Finally the night came and we stood under the massive fireworks over the river for the 4th of July celebration and we just knew that we were going to be together for a long time. Over the next few months, we flew back and forth from Arkansas to NYC to Arkansas to NYC. Christmas day, he came and brought two one way tickets for me and my son to fly back one last time. We married 3 days later and it will be 8 years on 12/28/12.

We are like anyone else with ups and downs. But we have a good life and are committed to make the best of any situation that comes along. He has stood by me since I was a skinny little, healthy thing, to the declining health and weight gain. Now he is my biggest supporter through this change I'm going through. But, no matter what I look like, he loves me more than anything and thinks I'm the most beautiful, wonderful woman he has ever met.

Husband and kids. They don't like when I'm out of shape. It's back to that whole dying thing. I have high B/P, exercise/diet controlled diabetes, and high cholesterol.

How did I meet hubby? Was watching my cousin's kids. He came over to show her boyfriend his new truck. I invited him in to wait (knew he was coming). He thought I was 16. Imagine his surprise finding out I'm older than him . He was pretty happy about that one. He was also pretty happy when I said as we were watching Married with Children, "Why would you get married and not have sex?" He said he knew then we were going to end up together.
