meeting all nutritional targets?

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new, and I have a question about the nutritional targets that MFP sets up for us based on the info that we provide.
I know that I need to be eating all of my calories for the day (including most if not all of my exercise calories) but, what about the other targets for the day? Are those all equally as important to meet? I feel like the numbers they have listed for carbs and fat are really high and I seem to be having trouble even getting close to those. And also, do I really want to be eating 200+g carbs? That seems like a lot! Also, on a few of the days I have logged my foods, I have gone over my protein target. I need to make my journal public so people can see but in general, what is the protocol for the other targets?
If there is a post that addresses this, a link would be great...then I won't have to continue to bug people with questions that have already been asked. I did a few searches but didn't come up with anything specific to my question. TIA for any insight

I think if you're way off thats not too good but other than that, i just try to stay under my carbs and sugar and sodium, and think its good when i go over on my protein and fiber0

You can customize your goals. I changed my carb/protein allocation to have more in protein and less in carbs, as I am closely monitoring my blood sugar. Mine is very comfortable right now, with 40% carb, 30% fat, 30% protein. Now whether that is effective, I don't know yet :laugh:0

I also changed my targets. I decreased my fat and increased my protein. I am not always right on but it keeps me close. Carbs seen to stay with me longer than protein which is opposite of what the books say. You'll figureout what you need to feel best.0
