Hey all,

Here's a fun one: I've been invited to go with a girlfriend to a music festival this coming Friday night, at which 2 Live Crew and Flo Rida will be performing (among others, of course, but those are the two I know of and care to see.) The festival is a 2-day affair, but we'll only be there from about 7pm to 1am on Friday night. It's an outdoors thing, held in a park, presumably lots of drinking, definitely lots of people, etc.

I'm not at all worried about calorie intake, as I have a 4am wake up time on Saturday, so need to stay sober in order to get home and sneak in a couple hours of sleep before I need to be awake, but what I'm kind of stuck on is what the heck do I wear to this thing?

Flat shoes are a must, since we'll be standing/dancing on grass. Laced shoes are a must, so as I dance I don't have to worry about losing a shoe. That part is easy. It'll be outside and there may be bugs, so I figured jeans would work. What do I do for a top? I'm 40 years old...a young 40, but still 40. Teensy/super young tops look silly on me. My closet is full of career wear, sweaters, etc. I'm not a t-shirt fan at all, but do have several tank tops. GAH. My friend says she's going with a granola hippie-chick approach, which I'd be fine with if I had such attire, but I don't. Ideas, even in concept?

Back in the day when I'd go clubbing, I was all about the rolled up thrift-store pants with combat boots, if that says anything about my style. I'm a biker chick on occasion, but pretty much a normal, corporate sort of mom the rest of the time. This really shouldn't be that hard, hah! Thanks for any ideas you might have. :)

Hah, yeah - I don't have Docs (how that's possible, I have no idea - I really should get a pair...or three), but I do have some biker boots that'll swap in easily enough. I might just have to suck it up and go shopping for something. Meh.

just a small top and hoodie ( if it gets cold in the evening), like you got on in your pic, is fine. Basically, s omething comfortable and changeable with the weather :flowerforyou:

Thanks, everyone! Seems I'll rock with the jeans/boots/tank option, with a hoodie as backup if it gets cold. My hope is that I'll be too busy dancing to even notice the chill! :D

Oh, as for rolling with the video-girl look, trust me: No one wants to see this girl's bum in a thong...at least, not just yet. ;)
