My NSV!

This may not be that big of an NSV to most but to me it's huge. I've been salt free for 50 days! Meaning I haven't added salt to anything in that time. For as long as I can remember I'd make my plate, sprinkle on some salt before I tasted anything and never think twice about it. I added salt to EVERYTHING! The hubby always liked to joke that I liked a little food with my salt, lol. My only question is when does the habit part of it go away? I still find myself even after being without for almost 2 months reaching for the salt shaker.

are you getting use to the taste of food with out it?0 -
Everything really does taste different and at first it was really hard. I found that some foods are still hard eat without it though. Just taking it a day at a time and I put the salt shaker up in the highest cabinet so its not easy to get to, lol.0

Good job. Some habits are hard to break. You may want to double check sodium content of the foods you consume.. You may be surprised how much sodium you still get.. especially if you are into any canned drinks, etc.0

I try to stay at 2500mg or less for my sodium for now. Hoping to get it down to 2000 or less.0

That's great! I know so many people who salt and pepper everything. My dad is one of those people. He salts and peppers everything before he even takes a bite. I have never been that way. I have never added salt to my food at the table, just pepper. I rarely even use salt when I cook, unless it is in a recipe or something. I have recently bought sea salt, and have added it to a few things, but I just have never been a fan of salty things. I even usually order my french fries from places without salt. I have found there are so many other seasonings that are so tasty, and you may want to experiment with some new ones, like herbs and spices. I know there are very high sodium foods, and I still have eaten some, but I don't add any salt to my already existing foods. You can keep it up. Great NSV!0
