I understand what bmr is but people keep talking about it so I checked and it said mine was something lie 1440 and my calories goal is 1480. It is pretty easy and I lose the 1 lb per week (eating back exercise cals) I was losing a little faster not counting the lifting cals but I only want to lose one pound per week. Then I want to lose slower for my last 10 or so. So...is it fine that I don't eat much above bmr or what

  • omg. I don't understand this BMR thing. I just tried to calculate mine and it says to MAINTAIN I need to eat like 2,600 calories a day. I eat like 1,200-1,500... why am I not losing weight?

Not totally sure, but I eat a little above my bmr and have been losing weight. I don't usually eat back my exercise calories, but occasionally I will eat like a hundred of them back if there's something I want to eat. So it's been working for me. Maybe it'll work for you too.

Sounds like you have it just right.

There is no magic about eating at, above or below your BMR in calories if you have fat reserves to make up the difference between what you use and what you eat.

You may be eating too few calories. Maybe try changing it up and increasing the cals a bit.

amber if I was allowed to eat that many I would screw it up and eat sooooo much ice cream! I guess you could try to eat what Mfp suggests for 1 lb per week weight loss that's what I'm doing
