Ok our BMR is calculated on our age, height and weight, so when on a weightloss program, with our weight (and even our age) constantly changing, our TDEE is constatly changing, so why is it that we tend to keep our daily calorie intake at the same level?
At the start of my program my BMR was 1632 based on my age - 46 and my weight = 165 lbs. Daily calorie intake = 1800
If I calculated my BMR now, it would be 1550 based on my age - 47 and my weight 155 lbs
I tend to arrive at a calorie intake figure at the start of a program and stick to it throughout the program.
Especially for those that have a lot of weight to lose, would it not be beneficial to recalculate your BMR and hence your TDEE and daily calorie intake on a monthly if not weekly basis?

MFP suggests you recalculate when you get to a 10 pound loss. You're right, especially as its only an estimate. I use a weight tracking app called Libra that predicts what my calorie deficit is from the moving average weight data and as you would expect it diminishes with time.0
