Motivation there...smart choices are not!

My motivation is rock solid....my food choices have not been for the last 3 weeks. I've been travelling quite a bit but even with that, I've been tracking and trying to eat the best I can but it seems the best is not enough because I KEEP going over calories. I decided to try going vegetarian (to do a mini-body cleanse) for the last 3 days and on all 3 days I've gone over calories on fruits, veggies, and milk! I can't believe it! I'm sure my thoughts are, "Hey this is a veggie, I can eat as much as I want" and then look at the caloric intake and its like WHOA MOMMA!

Maybe just tring to eat a balanced daily food like I was in the beginning is what I should stick too. Other wise does anyone have advice on the vegetarian eating and how I can eat and plan meals that arn't going to push me over my calories each day?

Maybe I need more motivate more as well....maybe I'm thinking it's rock solid when really it's not!

what veggies are you eating and how are you preparing them?
most veggies (especially in the raw) should not be going over in calories.
if its dressings and sauces or butter involved then thats a different story.
how many calories are you trying to eat in a day?
  • i eat a mostly vegetarian diet. what kind of stuff are you eating? i like whole wheat pasta w/ sauteed veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and zuccini w/ just a little olive oil, or marinara sauce. tacos are also very good, just make them like you normally would jsut w/ out the meat. I also like to eat veggie sandwiches. use cream cheese or your favorite hummus in place of mayo then pile on tomato, avocado, sprouts and red onion. very very good. also i like to snack on raw almonds, they are very filling and hard boiled eggs. Hope this helps!

What kind of vegetables are you eating that sends you over your calories? You can eat a whole lot of vegetables like broccoli, green beans, pinto beans, lima beans etc for little calories. Fruits-grapefruit, strawberries (almost any berry) nectarines, oranges etc. Try to limit the starchy vegetables -potatoes and corn- and sugary fruits -bananas- to one serving.

    B-Milk 1 cup 1 cupoatmeal strawberries

L- Yogurt, Salad- nuts, tomato, spinach, pear, brocolli

    D- 15 bean soup.
  • I am happy to say Im loosing my cravings. I dont have the urge to just go snack. I do know if your drinking soda's, diet or not that will sabatage your efforts. Cut out the soda, and eat more green.. I also recommend trying to eat your fruit on a empty stomach, it will help absorb the nutrients.

You can do this... just takes some will power, which we all have, its just a matter of saying
"im worth it and i can do it!"

    Good luck:heart:
