Endomondo Help (or any app that tracks time, speed etc)

Hi all - I am doing C25K and I use the Endomondo App on my phone to record all my data. I'd always had the activity set to walking since that is what I started doing and during the first few weeks of intervals I wasn't too concered about it.

I'd like to set it to running today - just to see what happens I guess but I will only be doing two 10 minute intervals with some walking in between. It seems foolish to stop each time and switch the activity since it will mess with my mojo.

Anyone have a similiar situation or have a suggestion on what I should do?

Much appreciated :flowerforyou:

Are you using it to estimate calories burned? If so, I'd leave it at running. It will track your speed and adjust it accordingly. I use it for Cycling, and if I choose "cycling, transport" because I'm commuting to work, it gives me half the calorie burn than if I choose "cycling, sport", despite the fact it uses same data for me and the fact I'm doing the same speeds, so I'd definitely leave it at running as you are doing running training, just interval runs that's all.

Hope that helps and doesn't confuse you even more!!

I actually noticed the same thing. i went out for a bike ride with my lovey on Sunday. I had it set on the cycling tranport one because I wasn't sure and after a few miles it seemed innaccurate - I switched it over to the cycling sport one and that one seemed much more on point so thats what I went with!

I didn't get to read this before I left the house so I just had it set to walking. I know it was off because I jogged a total of 40 minutes (I did two sessions of Week 6 Day 2 because I was in a pissy mood) and it gave me the same amount of calories it usually when I do 1 session and 1 walking lap at the park.

I guess the moral of the story here is I really need to invest in a heartate monitor so I can get an accurate calorie burn but for the time being my app will have to do.

Thanks for your input - I appreciate it! Will definitely set it to running next time!

No problem. I actually find with my HRM the cals are almost the same as long as I choose the cycling transport option, so I reckon the same is probably true - or very similar - for jogging.

    It's a great app though isn't it?! :)

It really is and I love that it shows you your whole route when you are done! I love showing it off to people. hahaha

Are you signed up online? I love that it shows you how many burgers you've burned.
