Hungry Lately

Since starting weight loss around the first of the year, I've eaten according to whatever my food plan was at the time, rarely exceeding my planned amount of calories for the day. On the rare occasion I would go over, it was usually for a planned event and it was not drastically over---usually about maintenance level. I normally ended the week on track with calorie intake for the week, even with a somewhat higher day.
I have been generally satisfied with the amount I've been eating and been losing 1-2 pounds per week. Recently, I decided to increase calories to only about 250 calorie deficit daily, for 1/2 pound loss, atlhough I've continued to lose about a pound every 7-10 days. Through all of this, I've not been particularly hungry.
However, for the past week-and-a-half, I'm suddenly really hungry. I'm finding myself eating (or wanting to eat) at maintenance level or more almost every day. I am keeping it at maintenance or just a few calories under, but I don't want to do this indefinitely.
Has anyone else kept on their food plan without too much difficulty or excess hunger for months and then had appetite suddenly increase? I think this all started when I had a demanding schedule for several days where my food choices would be limited and I deliberately planned to eat at maintenance those four days. Since then, I seem to want to go back to that level of eating, rather than continuing with my deficit. I don't mind a pause in my losing, but I don't want to drift into complacency when I'm so close to goal. Who knew 250 calories could make such a difference in being hungry or not?
Any thoughts or suggestions?
