It really is amazing and frightening the image being put into peoples minds about what is a good body, whatever that may be.
I have looked at a lot of peoples profiles, comments and pictures on here and noticed a lot of negative comments by people on their body....when really, they are looking pretty hot!
When people beat themselves up over their body when the reality is they are fine, makes you wonder where this pressure is coming from and more importantly,....why?
hmmm.......

I think it's partly media , also for me growing up with a skinny sister and father . Watching my mother diet her whole life has not helped me ( I don't blame her ) . Even when I was 4 stone lighter I still hated myself . I recently found a old diary from when I was 1995 probably 10 stone tops , Uk size 10 . The beginning of every week says " diet starts today " " your so fat must lose weight "
Now nearly 4 stone heavier my hatred of myself is worse then ever , I hate looking in mirrors , never go out unless I have to . I have tried numerous different types of counselling , hypnotherapy etc etc and have tried everything other then surgery . It ruins and rules my life , I am so good at being kind to others just not myself ....
Sorry for long reply , it's a sore subject for me : ((0 -
For me, I will always see an ugly face in the mirror, no matter what I weigh or how I look. Doesn't have anything to do with the media or any of that. It has to do with an f'd up childhood.
But, I recognize it, deal with it and try to let it go as best i can. Some days I think I'm almost pretty. Most days I actually like myself.

Some people are born with it. EDs run in the family, and if I didn't like myself as a size 4, I'm not going to like myself at any point, ever. Therapy helps some, and sometimes I feel amazing, but most days, not so much. I could be discovered as a supermodel and still feel ugly. Just the way it works, unfortunately.0
