WoW!! So i was reading an article the other day - and one of the bullet points for success was to do a photo journal. What a great idea - I THOUGHT. Man, taking the FIRST PICTURE of my backside.... WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME I needed a "WIDE LOAD" sign :noway: :grumble: ??!?!?!?!? It's funny how you get used to seeing your clothes and you forget how it used to look when you were a few sizes smaller. Well let me tell you... This was an eye opener for me.... Do you photo journal? Has it helped you in seeing the GOOD - the BAD -- and the UGLY??

Yes I take front, side and back view pictures every Sunday since Ive started in March. Just to watch my progress. And to have to post once I lose enough weight to post. I also measure myself every Tuesday and have charted it along with my weight. It's good to have to look back at. I plateaued for a while, was frustrating, but starting to see inches and pounds come back off.0

It IS weird. When I was at my heaviest, I didn't "see" then how big I was until I look back now at old photos. Today, at 97 lbs lighter, I don't clearly see how much smaller I am until I compare myself with those old photos. I guess we Western women have that skewed of a self-perception!0

That's a good idea.... take a pic every week and a measure every week. It seems like that would be good motivation to keep going....0 -
I took my start photos a week after starting. I had read so many posts in that first week and kept seeing people who regretted NOT taking those awful images. I waited for a day when I was all alone and could take them without anyone knowing. I took some with a shirt on and some without. I took my next set at 90 days. I wanted it to be long enough that I could seem some progress. My next series will be at 120 days, which is a week away. I'm nervous and excited to see the change. I think I will continue to take a set every 30 days, because I can't wait 3 months to see the changes!0

I can completely relate to this, well, not quite with the 97lbs lighter part (yet anyway!) Might be a bit of denial for the sake of my feelings, so I don't feel disappointed in myself. But it could be a good idea, sometimes a shock can be motivating, then seeing the progress would be positive.0 -
I also take front and side pics every Sunday and I measure once a month. It really helps you see the small changes going on from week to week.0

Sometimes you don't see the changes in the mirror. The photo journal is a great tool! It worked for me. It can work for you.

sure I hate the first picture, but it makes the results worth it. I ran out of room for more!0 -
I've just recently started. I took before pictures of front, back and side views. I still haven't uploaded them to my computer yet. Although as I type this I think I will do it when I am done (face reality, I will).
I am weighing and taking measurements every week, but plan on only take photos every 2 months.0
