I like to know if having too much good sugar is bad? I have a protein strawberry shake 5 days a week after I workout. These is what I put in it and I Always go over my sugar intake by 15% ugh....... I put 5 frozen strawberries, halve a banana, 2 fresh squeeze orange, halve an orange and then my whey protein mix 1 halve scoop and 8oz of apple juice! All this makes ne go OVER, so I like 2 know if that is a good or bad sugar intake! !! I get confuse when they say Good sugar is better, but then I go over my sugar intake!!!! What to do??????

8ozs of apple juice ? That's 28 grams of sugars (even if unsweetened) and your daily vitamin C.

You could turn off the sugar monitoring, or set a higher target. There are arguments against having these fast carbs hitting your blood stream but you're onto a loser with a "good sugar" vs "bad sugar" debate as they all act pretty similar.

Why don't you try cutting down on the amount of fruit in that smoothie? Use half as much. I'd sub the apple juice for water, and save a lot that way. I'm with Yarwell, sugar is sugar in the way your body reacts to it, and too much at once is not a helpful thing.

I quit monitoring sugar cause I love lots of fresh fruit, it wrecks my carbs but I honestly don't freak out on my macros. I use em as a loose guide. I have lost consitantly so far. The only time I haven't lost is when I am too lazy to workout. The past 3 weeks I am averaging around .2 lb a week with no exercise. Some days I even eat like 3 bananas along with other fruits. I just don't eat a huge amount all in one sitting. Sometimes I even eat carbs right before bed (queue the scary psycho theme here).

I am over on sugar almost every single day. I quit paying attention to it. As long as I am still getting results I am not too worried about it.

    I just posted something similar:

It's best to not have any fruit JUICE. THAT is definitely not good for you.

I'd say reduce the amount of fruit too. I'd take the two freshly squeezed oranges and the apple juice from your shake and go from there.
