Hi there,

I'd like to get another yoga dvd. Current I have Shiva Rea Flow Yoga for Beginners but I'd like some other recommends. I'm not very flexible yet so I need a really good basics one that will be easy on my knee.

I'm in Canada so our netflix isn't as good as Netflix in the States where i hear you can stream yoga dvd's.

Thanks in advance,

I would recommend taking a class if you can. A qualified instructor will be able to ensure that your body is in proper alignment. This is important, as poor alignment can cause injuries.

Yogajournal.com is a great resource. They have lots of videos and other information on yoga. Plus, it's free :)

I'll second what Emily said and recommend taking some classes *if* possible (though I know it isn't for everyone) . I started out with classes, which helped me become familiar with the asanas and proper form, and then due to some life changes moved to an at-home practice. But, you asked for videos and not my opinion or advice!

Rodney Yee Yoga for Beginners (this one has a tutorial which involves Rodney and a partner discussing proper form, etc)

You can probably find clips of these on YouTube to give you an idea of the flow and whether or not you would be interested before buying. Or possibly watch via Netflix. I've never looked for them there.

As for YouTube, Yoga Journal has some short beginner videos posted. I also like the Yoga for Beginners (5 Parts) by Esther Ekhart. She has her own channel on YouTube called Yogatic and there should be a link there for her Beginners sequence along with others.

    Hope this helps!
