when is it too much??

I am sure that this question has been asked before, but when does it become too many reps? I see people doing 300 squats a day.... or 250 push ups a day... either all at once, or broken up through out the day....

Does it get to the point where it is no longer effective? Does it make a difference in the beginning? Does your body eventually acclimate to it??

depends on what your goals are and if you're improving your form or working in harder variations. body weight work can be very effective as long as you're constantly challenging yourself to work a little bit harder than you did before.

for instance 300 squats/250 push ups isn't worth it to me because my goals are to be fast, strong and powerful and those are reps that are more for building endurance

    I thought the same thing!

Then I figured: once it gets too easy, add some weights...then some more. Then just do it to maintain.
Or change it up to something that hits that general area. So instead of squats all the time do the stairs

I am a teacher and my students had a goal of 3000 squats in 20 days. We actually surpass it. What I did was we did 4 sets of stuff. We did 50 regualr squats, then mayeb we would do a kick squat. I broke it up and I notice a difference on me. We also did 500 push ups in 5 days. 100 per day. 25 per rep. They are a lot of quick 20 min workouts with different types of reps on pintrest if you like. I would never do more than 4 reps.

Hope this helps. I am not an expert but we had fun doing challenges.
