How many people here have lifting buddies that ACTUALLY push you to work out? This is something I haven't been able to find yet, which is surprising in a military community. Has it made a real difference in your out put? I would like to hear some opinions.

Yep, I actually never train alone. I have a group that I've been training with for years and it makes a difference. I am competative and social, so by training with other people who are at a similar level I constantly push myself to beat them and also have a really fun time with it. It is particulalry awesome on max-lift days, there's nothing that helps you pull that deadlift like 6 people screaming "hips" at you... lol! In terms of helping you actually go to trianing, we all car-pool because we live close by. It's much harder to decide to sleep in when someone is on their way to pick you up.

I'm the one who pushes her most of the time. In one way it does push me though because I know she relies on me to push her harder. I know if I say let's take today off though that she would.

I have a few gym "buddies", but not necessarily a partner. Although, often times, we will wourk out at the same time with our trainer(how we met). Now, even on days we dont train with him, she will meet me and we will workout together, but usually caridio and lighter strength training.

To answer the question: no, I don't feel I am pushed harder per say, but it can be much needed motivation to go to the gym and get a workout in on the days I'm not up for it!

How long have you been seeing your trainer? Do you find it to be worth the monetary investment?
