What to do to get LEAN?

Hi there,

Will I become lean the closer I get to my goal weight by eating healthy/meeting my calorie goals? I have lost some weight already but I want to be defined. I have heard that you have to cut back on carbohydrates to look lean but I have heard about some people just losing a lot of weight through clean eating to achieve the lean look. I understand that there are certain carbohydrates that you should eat such as whole-grains, vegetables, fruit, etc. But, since I am following the Insanity and Les Mills Pump program I find that I have the most energy when I include carbohydrates with most of my meals. So, I guess what I'm wondering is if I can achieve the lean look by losing more weight/fat by eating clean and not necessarily focusing on cutting carbs?

Thanks for any help or suggestions given :)

Its not about the carbs its about cutting fat. Generally, you want to eat 20% less then your tdee and then do heavy strength training where you fail at 8-12 reps. A good program that helped me cut was chalean extreme and p90x

Cutting carbs are not necessary at all...cut calories slightly and burn fat by lifting heavy. It takes time, but it can happen.

A lot of the fitness professionals/Jamie Eason types will provide unliveable diets, like grilled chicken and veggies for every meal. I pretty much eat what I want, within reason (I tend to eat 80% healthy and supplement with some unhealthy snacks and wine), and maintain a pretty lean body year long. It is all about balance.
