I'm a month away from my 34th birthday and newely single after a six year relationship :( I have decided I need to focus on me, and making a BETTER ME. In doing so, I have joined a gym, work with a personal trainer twice a week, do cardio 4 times per week, and have completely changed my diet. In the past, I had done Weight Watchers and the weight came off quite quickly...and gained it back just as quickly. Now, at 5'10", 285 pounds, I have decided to take another path. I'm trying high protein/low carb. I'm doing great and sticking to everything. Been doing it for about three weeks and have not dropped a single pound. When I was doing WW, I would lose up to five pounds a week! I need some encouragement!!

Schmames00: I am having the same problem as you are. I have been doing this for about 6 weeks and have lost 3 lbs--actually the same 3 lbs probably 3 times over. I also used to do WW and decided to try this way; I hope someone can help us know why not. It is frustrating to know that with WW I always lost like 6 lbs the first week and min 2 lbs p/wk after. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Can you open your food diary to public so that we can see what you are eating? That will help us try to figure out what is causing you not to be losing weight. At this point we can't tell if you are eating too few calories to lose the weight, or too many calories. Either one is possible.

story of my life. I've gained 5 pounds in the first week of trying this myfitnesspal thing!!! I run anywhere between 6-10 miles 4 times a week. Go to the gym 3 times a week (1hr 30 -2 hrs intense strength training). I do physical week 5 days a week. Like standing the whole day moving stuff around. I'm on a high protein/low carb diet too!! Anyway good luck to you!!! I'm this close to quitting but I'll keep working hard

May I ask wich high protein/low carb diet you are following? It's possible that you are consuming too much protein which can prevent you from losing and can even cause you to gain weight.
