Just going out on a limb here and thought some one might benefit from my story. I started out at 282lbs. I was eating 700-900 calories worth of food a day. I didn't understand how I could be so large and there was really no way to cut out any more food without becoming really unhealthy. My first doctor told me I was lying- flat out- about how much food I was taking in. So I had my BFF and husband help to make sure I wasn't lying to myself so I could log my almost non-existent meals then went to a new doctor. He sent me to a nutrition expert, I also consulted with a nurse practitioner , an exercise specialist and another doctor who specializes in nutrition. I was not eating enough food. We increased my calories to 1200. It was really hard to keep up with at first because that meant I needed to be eating all day long! When you are large and really want to lose, eating more is still really hard to wrap your head around.  I started eating more and began to lose right away. I did some research on my own and most if it pointed to a small gain at first, but I did not gain. Week 1 I lost 2lbs I think. I constsitently lost 1-2 lbs a week. I have had some harder times since November and had small 1-2 lb gains once in a while.. Keeping down to 1200 calories now is simetimes really hard and unrealistic for the rest of my life, but over all I've lost just over 30lbs learning to listen to my body and giving it what it needs. Not withholding food or feeding it things it doesn't need if I can help it. I exercise regularly and I feel so much better now than I did when I weighed closer to 150! We only have one body, and thankfully it is very forgiving and is capable of taking care of its self. It can only do that if we feed ourselves what our body needs to be healthy.
I can't wait to lose another 70 lbs so I can post my success story with pictures! Still have a long way to go, but I'm getting there!!

Makes sense! I never really ate packaged/processed foods as a rule but I get the binge part. I would drink twisted teas almost every weekend and that can be a lot of calories... 1500 for a six pack of useless calories. So prob the same as eating a box of twinkies.. Or worse for all I know. Ty for sharing the link :)

Great :) remember taking care of yourself starts on the inside. Your body really will follow after your mind is set :)
