tomorrow morning I am going out with my class for breakfast as we graduate from college on Friday. However I am a little concerned about what I can have, it's breakfast so it limits my menu items...should I just go and order toast, egg? Ugh I am not comfortable yet I feel conscious about only ordering something peckish. I am not looking for harsh words or blunt ideas. I am looking for helpful people that have maybe been in my shoes andnwhat you did... This is a link for the restaraunt we will be attending...http://www.smittys.ca/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=CX0qUkeuaIA=&tabid=57 just looking for support/ideas thanks

An eggbeater omelette full of veggies is very low-cal! Just ask for egg substitutes.
Or you could order what you want and eat only half and take the rest home.
Or you could eat a giant breakfast and then eat very sparingly and attentively for the rest of the day.
Also, I absolutely understand feeling self-conscious about trying to eat light -- however, I've sabotaged myself many times by trying to hide the fact that I'm on a diet. Actually, I did it today! If this is something you're planning on sticking with, it might be a good idea to get used to being in the public eye. I am working on that myself.0 -

If it were me, I would possibly do it like this:
Drink a protein drink before you go, and maybe a piece of fruit, a cup of tea.
When you get to the restaurant, order whatever you want to...just only eat a portion of it.
If you think you might be gone longer than you plan on, and will get hungry again, pack a snack with you to eat later.0 -
Don't panic, eating out is just another skill to learn
It's great to have access to the menu ahead of time - especially with calories, you never get that where I live!
If you want to stick to a relatively low cal breakfast, I would order the back bacon and eggs and a side order of toast. You'll probably only want to eat half the toast though. Order a black (or skim) coffee and drink water and you're good to go.
Of course if you feel like a treat, order whatever you fancy, but you will have to accept that you probably won't have any calorie deficit for the rest of the day - that's not necessarily the end of the world, as long as you are aware up front.
(and thanks for the look at that menu, it was very entertaining.... there are some crazy numbers on there - how can you have fish and chips for 450 cals and nachos for 2100? Bizarre!)0
