But could someone explain to me how Twitter works? How do I get followers?

Thanks! :)

You have to write no more than 160 characters of stuff people want to read, I suggest trying to be funny or witty.

I despise twitter. You get followers by inviting them or by following others. But I really do not need to know every time my friends go get coffee or run to the bathroom.....

I have an account there but I don't log there much because I found it pretty boring unlike facebook

You don't control your followers, not really. People have to opt to follow u. For example, u want to get weather updates via Twitter from your local weather person. You go to their profile and select follow. Hope this helps.

I run an account for work but refuse to get a personal account there as I find it mind numbing.

I've worked out @ but still haven't a clue about hash tags.....

I have twitter and use it occasionally. It works best if you use it daily in the same way that others will change their facebook status message all the time. I hate facebook.
