Hi folks, just a quick bit of advice please. Been invited to go to an Indian restaurant tonight. What can you advise on the healthiest dish for me? Thanks in advance :)

I would opt for chicken tikka as its dry .....so no oily sauce, and ask for extra yogurt and mint sauce to go with it, they may not use low fat yogurt but healthier than the curry sauces as they use a lot of ghee in them

On the other hand if you cut back all day on your food, enjoy a curry and cut back a bit tomorrow also

staying away from korma, butter chicken, pasanda as they have double cream in them

What ever you decide, don't over do it and enjoy
  • Try to avoid all curries, they're loaded with ghee and yogurt. If it's a Tandoori place, you can order anything like grilled chicken or prawns, guilt-free! Otherwise stick to a vegan or Jain dish as they can't have any ghee. And don't eat any sides like naan or rice - they're just empty calories! And obviously, nothing deep-fried like samosas, bhajis or pakoras. And no dessert - Indian desserts are disgustingly rich.
