    I use Tera's Whey
I love the acai berry one.
or if I want a treat I use the choc one with a frozen banana blended up in it....
Or I will use the vanilla one with frozen strawberries... yum like a strawberry shake
I mix it with unsweetened (almond/coconut milk)

Its a little more expensive but you need less and it has less "crap in it" - high protien low carb
I order it online through Amazon but they do sell it at Whole Foods.
  • I should probably have this copy pastable.. This topic comes up time and again, and here's my opinion, take it for what it's worth:

Premixed protein shakes and powders are a waste of money and calories and chemicals. If you want to up your protein intake, look for bulk or tub "Whey Protein Isolate". 100% pure, unadulterated, unsweetened, unflavored.

This stuff is JUST milk-derived whey protein, with no other ingredients. It is the most versatile of any protein products, as it can be mixed into a shake with some fruit and as much or little sweetener as you like (I mix a big scoop with a frozen banana and top the cup up with water and mix it on my single serving blender, no sugar needed).

You can also mix it into non-sweet things, since it doesn't have a cloying chocolate / strawberry / frappamochacaramelchino flavor. You can add it to breads and cookies when you're baking to take the place of up to 1/4 the flour, etc (it will make them a little denser and harder, so beware).

GNC will try to sell you sugar and tell you it's muscle. I've heard so much mis-information given to people looking to "bulk up" at the local GNC outlet. The woman told this one guy, maybe 5'8", that he would have to take in 4000+ calories to put on any muscle, and that it didn't matter if it was tuna or big macs, as long as he got his calories and took in their MEGA OXY BLAST NITRIC MASS GAINER ELITE for only $99.99 a day..

Not every GNC is like this, I'm sure, but mine sure is. Thats why I buy my whey protein isolate from the Bulk Barn.

I started using a whey protein powder that I purchased from Trader Joe's. It is French Vanilla and I add it to my smoothie. I can't remember the name of it but it is a lower cal, fat and carbs powder.

Thanks... for helpful information. I will look for the "Whey Protein Isolate" . And I always have the feeling that GNC is all talk and no real information.
