Vitamin Supplements

So I have decided to add a 1000mg Flax Seed Oil tablet and a B100 Complex tablet to my morning routine. What vitamins are you adding in to routine? Does anyone have any suggested vitamins?

I have added the following on the advice of my trainer:

Multi vitamin - this is important when on a calorie restricted diet
Vitamin C - 1000mg - helps repair more that your immune system
Fish oil - 2000mg - our bodies are meant to eat fish and most of us do not eat nearly enough

Nutrilite multivitamin one a day or Centrum multivitamin. If you eat a balanced diet and are healthy, you shouldn't need anything else.

In general, I like to use the Amazing Grass Green SuperFood - it's a mix made of wheat grass, spirulina, chlorella, barley grass, etc. and is available in a few flavors. It's vegan, dairy free, gluten free and soy free, if you are concerned about any of those aspects. I mix it with yogurt or OJ in the morning or around lunch time and it keeps me fuller longer and helps me not feel so drained by that 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. energy zap I usually feel while working at a desk job. I'd say after my first week of using AG on a daily basis, I felt a noticeable difference in my energy (and bonus for me - fewer headaches!)

I also sometimes take Trader Joe's Women's Once Daily Multivitamin and Mineral (1 tablet) in the morning and/or Trader Joe's Magnesium, Calcium and Zinc supplement (1 tablet) in the afternoon.

I'm aware that there are groups of vitamins that absorb better when paired, but there are so many to take together/not take together that I tend to lose track. I haven't really found a thorough resource outlining that information, either.
  • Currently, when I stopped working out for about a year ago, I feel like my muscles are weaken, what I use is a product that a well known doctor I watched at the television which is Dr mercola and got his zinc supplement at this http://products.mercola.com/zinc-supplements/. I never got sick but gain a bit weight. Is there anything better? Is it the zinc supplement the one affected me?

    A 'Mens' Multivitamin
Vitamin C twice a day (it only stays in the body for 12 hours and you can't synthesis or get enough of it)
Vitamin K (it apparently helps to counter the blood thinning effects of any alcohol I may, or may not, consume regularly ;))
    Omega 3 Oil - 3 times a day
Cod Liver Oil - For vitamin A and D

On the slightly 'dark side' I have recently started supplementing with CLA ... And I can say that yes, it does help reduce belly fat ... At what cost is open to wide debate so I doubt I will continue with it for a prolonged period.

I have just finished my Green Tea supplements, I bought some Green Tea bags instead, will see how it goes ...

No idea if all this has an effect objectively but I feel better for it :)

Multivitamin, Vitamin C, Fish Oil - 2 capsules 3 times daily, Calcium, Flaxseed Oil, fiber powder
  • I take a sublingual B12, one to two Sisu 30mg calcium + magnesium (depending on my diet that day), a Jamieson multivitamin with added iron and two Udo's Choice omega 3-6-9 caps.

I normally take the multivitamin at the very end of the day with my last sip of water before bed, just so the extra iron doesn't impede any calcium absorption.

PuraEPA Omega 3 (2 a day), a multi vitamin, extra vitamin D, a amino acid complex (2 a day - not the body building kind), taurine (not in the amino acid complex I buy). Sometimes I take extra vitamin C and Zinc too but not currently, just like I will stop taking the vitamin D when the bottle runs dry as it is nice and sunny now.

I do have medical issues which is why I have such a hardcore supplementation regime though, but i do notice bigger losses when I remember to take my full quota, not sure why.
