Anyone else have fond memories of the roller rink and the music that play...not to mention the terrible cafeteria style food?

Yes! and the TERRIBLE excuse for food they had... Where I grew up there was only one roller rink and it smelled like melting gym socks when you walked in. Lovely, fond memories

I don't know about favorite, but the one song that never fails to play is The Jitterbug.0

I seem to be stuck in the 90s in terms of music - so I often play the JJ Fad, Salt N Pepa, and Quad City DJs stations on my Pandora. Makes exercise SO MUCH fun!0

You youngsters should have herd the Music we had in the 1960's! I'd skate to anything today compared to that Crap we had!!!! LOL0

My favorite roller rink song was "Obsession: by Animotion. "You're an obsession, you're my obsession, what do you want me to be, to make you sleep with me..."
The roller rink also had the best selection of all the Ferrara Pan candies (anyone from Chicago will know what I'm talking about)- Lemonheads, Atomic Fire Balls, Alexander the Grape, Boston Baked Beans, Jaw Busters- so good!
On a sad note, our roller rink closed this month due to overly high property taxes. A part of my childhood died when it shut down. So many parties and memories there.0 -
