I am currently doing NROLFW, but have been reading StrongLifts 5x5. Just wondering, from the people who have tried both...which one did you prefer? Which one had better results?

If you're lifting heavy which I believe both of the techniques say then results will vary from person to person based on your diet, hormones and genetics. IMO If you are lifting for hypertrophy in the muscle and lifting heavy then you should try to do multiple way of strength training as this will help hit every muscle in various planes of motion. i.e. front plane sagital plane etc.. You really should not make a cookie cutting style out of just one way and one way only.
Edit: for quote and clarification0 -

Good to know, But that didn't really answer my question. Thanks though0 -
I started doing the stronglifts 5x5 but didnt do it long only because I dont have anything to put my bar on so I can do the squats, it was hard to lift if over my head and I knew with more weight on there was no way I could do it alone. Once I get something (my son says we have pegs for the bench but i cant find them) Im going to start again. It looks like a great program and makes sense.0

I did NROLW and now I'm currently doing Strong Lifts...I love it. It's simple and hits all the muscles in 5 compound exercises. My goals are strength gain, not size gain so I still incorporate cardio and a caloric deficit.
I recommend it.0 -
Thank you for the topic! I'm debating which one to start and have just started researching. I'd love to hear what everyone has to say. Good luck to you!0

Over in the http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/4618-stronglifts-5x5-for-women group we have a couple of people that started NROLFW and switched to Stronglifts after the first phase or so.
The first phase or NR is very similar to SL, but phase two gets complicated and takes a long time.
I have/read the book, and there's some good stuff in there, but to me it seems complicated where SL remains simple throughout.0 -

This is exactly why I switched over to SL. I was having great results with NROLW but it started getting crazy with the complicated moves. Trust me I like a good challenge and I'm not afraid of pushing myself in fact I crave it...but in my lifting I want it to be straight forward and less time consuming. I'm getting great results with SL as well in less time and frustration!0 -
Thank you so much ladies!0

This is EXACTLY what has been scaring me away from starting NROLW and really any weightlifting program, but I'm reading through the forum now and it seems a lot more manageable. Thank you!0
