HRM CALs or WEB CAL's

So I happened to catch a thread on the boards that was talking about the impossibility of burning 1000 cals in an hour. Well my HRM just gave me 478 for 35 min of walking/jogging. That made me think that someone in much better shape could put forth that kind of effort.... So I decided to look on the net...and I found this web site:
http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx
Since I knew my avg HR from my HRM I thought I'd see how close it was...not even! At an avg 167 bpm (92% of max) for 35 min, my age, weight, gender my GROSS burn was 388, 344 for NET. Guess I'll update my exercise stuff now!!
Does anyone have any insight/advice!! I bought a HRM with chest strap because all my MFP's said it was more accurate......

Just checked by putting my last work out into the calculator, the gross burn was almost exactly the figure I got from the machine (cross trainer) and Endomondo (when I entered the average heart rate from HRM). Net would have been a little lower of course, but I am not monitoring to that degree of accuracy and certainly not 'eating back exercise calories' to anywhere near that margin of difference.
As a 220lb male, I was able to burn about 500kcal in 30 minutes with average heart rate of about 153, so on for 1000kcal per hour apart from the fact I could never have sustained it that long. I have been at this for nearly three weeks now, doing at least 30 minutes per day at that rate and I have seen my average heart rate drop by about 10 so at the beginning I would have been burning even more (especially as I was 9lbs heavier!)0 -
Testing my ability to post pics!!
These are all my boys!!
