Heel Pain

So, I have been running for about 2 months now (well, run/walking). Saturday I ran with a new pair of running shoes and they were so horrible. They were really tight and my heel immediately started hurting. Well, needless to say, I have gone back to my good ol' pair, but still am having the pain. It is not in the bottom of my heal, but more on the right side. It is uncomfortable to walk, but not killing me. I have looked up a ton of different things but really can't put my finger on it. I do not need smart a** responses from people saying go to the doctor, but has anyone had anything like this?

I had a similar pain on the outside of the heel towards the back. It could be the peroneal tendon or the insertion point for the achilles tendon. I asked a podiatrist about it and he said if the pain does not get worse when running then you don't need to stop. Use ice and an anti-inflammatory. Also stretch your calf and soleus muscles after you workout. It may take a few weeks but the pain should go away.

When you use a new pair of shoes it can cause pain in your feet because it hasn't really shaped your foot yet. You also may not be getting enough arch support. Or since they are too tight you may need a wider shoe.

I got a new pair of shoes and my feet hurt for a few days of wearing them, but eventually they shaped to my foot. I also had a pair of flats that killed my feet, but I got arch supports and put them in my shoes and it was 100% better!
