*FINALLY* broke my 3-month plateau!

i was at a stand-still with weight-loss for over 3 months, and finally pushed through! i added TONS and tons of protein and eliminated "bad" carbs, while lowering my intake of "good" carbs. i started using more free-weights and a bit less cardio (although i still LOVE to run!) my aim is about 125g of protein per day & i work-out with weights 5 days per week and do cardio 5 days per week. i haven't counted calories or fat at all, and after just one week, i lost a pound. feels great! (i also lost 1/2" on my waist and 1/4" on my thigh measurements)
just wanted to share! :flowerforyou:
edited to add:
it has been VERY hard to add protein! i drink about 1-2 protein shakes per day, eat a protein bar after i work-out (which has about 30g of protein)
eat alot of chicken and lean ground turkey for dinner, plus peanuts/peanut butter, almonds (i LOVE the dark chocolate covered ones as a snack!) also added leafy greens (which i hate LOL)
also eggs with a *tiny* bit of butter + turkey sausage. great and high protein. i add cheese, too, but no toast or tortillas like i used to!
MorningStar veggie burgers are a great meat alternative and taste delicious.
for dinner, i mainly get veggies and stir fry with chicken or ground turkey (or beef) and do not use rice or pasta like i used to. as my husband says, "Stay LEAN and GREEN"

I've been plateauing from the end of April through All of May....and I finally increased my calorie intake about 2-3 weeks ago.
I have lost 3lbs in the last 5 days! Super excited about that because I was doing really well and then bam, nothing...0 -

even though i haven't been keeping up with calorie count, i know my calories are up, too, which i think helps ALOT! i have added good fats to my protein along with veggies and that little bit of extra calorie really gives me more fuel. congrats to you!0 -

Well done! Very inspiring! I'm on a bit of a plateau, think am at about 6 weeks with no loss. I'll try upping the protein. Doing 30DS as well, which is first time I've worked on strength training. On day 10, so early days...
Well done again, you've worked so hard for it - super inspiring!0 -

i have figured that it now takes WORK. the first few months, the pounds fell off, even when i was hitting the gym, i wasn't having to work nearly as hard as i have to work now that i'm down to my last few pounds before goal weight!0 -

Great job! Mine is 1 month plateau less than two and half months into it! WTH? lol. You eat like me, except the Morning Star patties, they have soy and that blocks my thyroid hormone, slows my metabolism to a stop, so it's a no-go for those for me and most people (although some can eat soy alright).i was at a stand-still with weight-loss for over 3 months, and finally pushed through! i added TONS and tons of protein and eliminated "bad" carbs, while lowering my intake of "good" carbs. i started using more free-weights and a bit less cardio (although i still LOVE to run!) my aim is about 125g of protein per day & i work-out with weights 5 days per week and do cardio 5 days per week. i haven't counted calories or fat at all, and after just one week, i lost a pound. feels great!
