I found out that type of water has 5 tablespoons of suger?....I asked her and she said it was the wrong one its actially called vitamin water with a white label...I know what she is talking about now but why would a model be drinking vitamin water? i dont know whats she up to or giving me the right advice here. She is very fit looking and all but there is photos of her drinking normal water but holding bottles of the vitamin water....I can drink normal water dont get me wrong but its just until i can get this crappy stuff out of my system... She also advised me to eat 7 times a day? sorry i could never do that even before i had kids when i was very skinny i still never ate that much and i was healthy...I would like to hear your thoughts on this please. I know there is alot of healthy people on here so thats why i am asking you guys personally. I should also be taking that stuff you get from thr gym that cost like $100 protein crap.....

Personally, every SUGARY drink is a categorically NO period!!!
Even if that is a diet vitamin water with no sugar, I rather drink water than a artificial drink with lots of artificial flavors.0 -
If you need electrolytes, drink coconut water. If you need flavored water, drop cut fruit in your water0

I have never seen coconut water to be honest lol0

Vitamin water has a lot of sugar in it. It's no better for you than Coke. The name is just a marketing gimmick to get people to think it's healthy.
Try to replace the Coke with plain water or seltzer. If you don't like the plain taste, add some lemon or lime juice. Giving up Coke is difficult (I tried many times before I succeeded), but there's no point in replacing one sugary drink with another.0 -
If the vitamin water she is recommending is the same one made by the Coca-Cola company then I wouldn't drink it. The sweetener in that is high fructose corn syrup, so basically it's another form of cola. If you need to drink water, just drink water. MIO is a better sweetener, and you can add it to sparkling water if you miss the carbonation of cola.0

Well after your comments i did more research and found out shes a model for vitamin water? go figure thanks for your help guys glad i dident drink anymore0

Vitamin water is a BS marketing gimmick for suckers. Soda has been demonized as unhealthy but vitamin water is very similar calorie wise. You not going to get magically healthy from the other crap they put in. It's marketing drivel. No more
Everyone can eat every couple hours if they have small meals. If you think you can't you need to take another look at your portion sizes.
I simply don't buy into the idea that you need tons of highly processed protein every day to be fit, active, and loose weight. Have leafy greens, cruciferous veggies, beans, lentils, and some lean meat, eggs, and fish. Protein powder is convenient but otherwise unnecessary.
Coconut water is now very common. I bet you can get it locally you just haven't noticed it before.0 -
I am from Australia i am not sure if they sell coconut water here i do look alot around the drink area to see what i could have but never seen anything like that before. I might have to google it. what is the benefit of coconut water how is it different?0

Yes, you can buy it in Australia.
I've seen it at Woolies in the chiller section and have also bought it at asian grocery stores.
I'm glad you did your research on Vitamin Water, it's just another soft drink cleverly marketed.
To Gt3ch - yes, I agree with all of that - protein powders and bars are another great example of hyper-marketing sucking people in.0 -
In the US there are a number of large marketing campaigns for coconut water. That's where my head is at. I'm a dumb american who thinks no one else exists. Sorry. Hope you have it locally but only you or other Aussie friends know for sure.
There's nothing special about coconut water. It's just a natural source of electrolytes without a ton of calories. If you're badly dehydrated the alternative is sports drinks like Gatorade. But they have lots of unnecessary carbohydrates and calories. It's a lot easier to loose weight in a healthy way when you're not drinking your calories.0 -
Coca-Cola....about 110 calories per 8 fluid ounces.
Glaceau VitaminWater...about 50 calories per 8 ounces.
Tap water....0 calories!!!!
The vitamins put in the water are synthetic variants that your body has a harder time absorbing than the same vitamin from solid foods.
I admit I will drink the stuff at times if I'm looking for something sweet, but I never considered it healthy.0 -

Coconut water is what I bring to the gym with me. I've gotten it at heath food stores or Hispanic or Asian grocery stores. i throw some chia seeds in there and I'm good to go.
We did stop by a chain grocery store to get something to drink before the gym and my boyfriend and I both got vitamin water. I have no idea what was in it but I had to get up every 5 minutes to go to the bathroom0 -
Oh i shop at coles no wonder i never seen it haha i will look in woolworths then thanks for that0

Sometimes diet is all about substitutions. Your overall goals tend to be what decides how many you need to make. This fitness person probably suggested vitamin water as a means for a trade out...a small step in the right directioin. Is it great, no. Is it better than coca cola. Yes. As "boring" as it is in comparison to all those "fun" beverages out there, plain ol' H20 is the way to go. I have also heard that lemon in your water is a natural metabolism booster. I don't much care for it, but whatever helps get that water intake in. Sometimes i'll have a cheat drink of lipton green tea, but try not to rely on it. In reguards to the eating 7 meals, 5-7 meals is correct. This is to boost metabolism and also keep the urge to over eat in check. Just take the amount of calories you are suppose to consume and divide that by 5-7 meals and consume that many calories for each meal. In general you should be eating about every 3 hours. At first it seemed like a lot to me as well, but then your body gets used to it and will burn food faster because it knows it will be fed again at regular intervals. Hope this helps0

This is false. There is no such thing as "jumpstarting your metabolism." There are plenty of people on this website who practice intermittent fasting, i.e. not eating at the start of the day, then getting three meals in over the course of eight hours, then not eating again, and they have lost weight successfully. There are others who find that eating smaller meals more frequently helps them avoid snacking on unhealthy foods during the day. It is highly individual, and you should do whatever you feel is right for you.0
