I've been keeping my calories at 1200. I do eat more, but I always try to keep my net calories at 1200 or a lil above or below. Honestly if you eat too little and are working out then you will get sick, trust me! I notice that I am dropping weight faster than before, so if you keep it 1200 you will lose weight. Also as long as you eat 1500-1600 you will lose weight but very slowly. Here's my advice. Aim at 1200 (if you want to lose weight fast), BUT if you workout make sure you are still at a net calories of 1200. Your body needs the calories and so naturally you will lose. GOOD LUCK!!!0

I'm in maintenance mode now but when I was losing - 1200 for non-workout days and 1400-1500 for workout days did the trick.0

I would be starving at 1200 a day so even if I do not exercise I have to eat around 1400-1500. My BMR is 1340 and I usually exercise to get to about 1800 a day and eat around that. Any less and I am too hungry. I did get down to maintenance using this method then stopped logging and crept up about 5 pounds so back to logging and losing.0

I changed to 1400 today but I think I do the best at 1200 and work out calories. I didn't know if that was to low.
I want to work out 5 days a week 50 mins a day0 -
I'm 47, so not really a girl, but I eat around 1450 a day. My metabolism isn't what it used to be. My BMR is 1330.0

Why do you ask? Having problems?
I'm 5'6 and 1/2 and weigh 174 (started at 212lbs). I eat about 1600-1700 most days, less (around 1200-1300 if I don't exercise). I work out (with a HRM to track calories burned) to the tune of burning 350-500 calories 5 days/week. HAve lost 38 pounds in 9.5 months. Steady, slow. If I relied only on the scale for validation of my effort, I'd go crazy. As it is, with all the exercise (cardio and strength/weights) my body has changed dramatically more than the 38 pounds I've lost. I'm wearing clothes that I wore back when I was 10-15lbs less than I am now, I'm SO STRONG and have so much energy. There have been a few days I literally forgot to eat as much as I should and I felt it. I always finish the day very close to the 1200 net. Too much less and by evening I feel like I'm dragging. A few peices of fruit and water pick me right back up.0
