Granulated Erythritol

Hi all! I ran across a site called Chocohlawtay...the girl makes healthified desserts that use things like beans and chickpeas in them. I want to try them and I have noticed most of her recipes use stuff called Granulated Erythritol. I do not know much about this product and was wondering if any of you had any experience with it. Good, bad, ugly? Where does it fall on the sweetener chain? Am I better off with this stuff or just real sugar? Is this comparable to stevia at all?

it's a sugar alcohol or polyol - one of the few that passes through largely undigested.
It isn't especially sweet, it's used in some cases as a bulking agent with stevia to provide a powdered / granulated alternative to sugar.0
