Not sure how this can be? I did go out last night and had a few drinks and a takeaway, I have also switched from walking to running so can't do it for as long so less calories burnt.
Body fat is down 0.8% but it can't all be muscle either. The scale wasn't very level the last 2 weeks before today so I guess it could have been inaccurate?
11th May - 265 lbs / 120.6 kg / 30.2% Body Fat
18th May - 263 lbs / 119.3 kg / 29.8% Body Fat
25th May - 258 lbs / 117.3 kg / 29.2% Body Fat
1st June - 264 lbs / 119.8 kg / 28.4% Body Fat
Any thoughts?

As your metabolism gets into gear and start burning at a faster rate these weight fluctuations can become greater. You can see a big difference from the time you go to bed at night to the time you wake up in the morning. Next week could be very different again. Your body fat % is down which is great, this means your increased body weight is from something other than fat (probably muscle..unless you've grown another limb).0

My guess it is water weight from going out. Make sure the weight is taken the same time of the day. You said you go for less time when you run, why? Run then walk to finish off the time. I recently started again on this site and like the last 2 times I lost a decent amount of weight it is falling off a pound a day, I can't explain that because that shouldn't be possible I'm not deficient 3500 calories a day. Same with you I'm sure one night out didn't equal 21,000 calories (although that would be one hell of a night)
Hang in there, work hard and I'm sure you'll see some big number drops soon to make up for it.
Good Luck0 -
Try weighing at the same time tomorrow or even the next day. It can be amazing how much weight can go up temporarily after eating a big dinner, You have the weight of the food and drink itself plus any water retention. It will get less as the food is processed by the body.
I don't weigh myself a day after I have a bigger meal than usual.
As your body fat % is going down nicely, I wouldn't worry about it.0 -
If you ate food that has considerable amounts of sodium, that will make you retain water. Water retention makes your weight go up and down around 2-5 lbs, ask the women, we KNOW allllllllllllll about this fun thing.0

This is so meant for me lol. Im the same and actually my hubby too, we are both dieting and the scales change from day to day, I weigh myself every morning, simply coz i dont seem to lose weight from week to week, so I woudlnt know what was coming off. But I can tell you i weight when i get out fo bed then i can go on again a few mins later and it says im a llb heavier which is a total impossiblily. Often if you have had a large meal, even including lots of veggies it will make me weigh more and i defo weigh more at night than i do in the morning.Im still weighing everyday but learning to ignore the ups and downs coz its very annoying and makes me want to give up, so what i do i whatever weight is my lowest that week, then that is my weight and whatever day of the week it drops down abit more then thats weight lost too. Hope that makes sense for you.I friend told me for every pint of water you drink you will weight llb more, so god help me if i drank 8 pints of water in one day, so yes it very well could be the booze you have had the night before.0

I got back from a 3-day vacation where I ate poorly. I had gained 3 pounds in 3 days. 3 days later after getting back to my normal eating habits, I had dropped the 3 pounds. Weight fluctuates quickly when you change things up. I think several things changed for you; your exercise routine, your eating habits, and an inaccurate scale.
I'd get a new scale & weigh-in at the same time, first thing in the morning, for a few days to get a better idea of what your weight might actually be. I know it's hard not getting frustrated, but don't give up!0 -
I'd say it's from going out last night as well. The BF% change is (probably) because of the change in your hydration level.0

Thanks guys.
I may try to add some walking back in with the running, I used to walk 2 hours and today ran/jogged? 72 minutes at 5 mph.
I'm a bit wary of overdoing it as I go to the gym every weekday and need to make sure I can do the same thing every day, I also walk to work as well and had a lot of problems with blisters and aching legs when I first started walking.
The scale I use is at Boot (Chemist) so can't change it, will keep going and hopefully have some good news next Friday.
I don't usually go out on Thursdays but it was the end of the month and we had a good one at work.0 -
Energy is work which is basically moving a mass through distance. The calories per mile is essentially he same for walking and running (wind resistance is negligible). Assuming you walk and run the same distance you burn the same, about 100 Cal/mile. Bicycling is more efficient and burns approx 50 Cal/mile.0
