I just posted this on another thread. My answer is the one no one likes....PORTION CONTROL.

It is vacation. You will be confronted with delicious foods you normally don't eat. Don't deprive yourself but don't pig out either. Eat reasonable portions. I always determine how much I will eat beforehand, e.g. this looks like an 8 oz steak so I will eat half. This is a lot of rice so I will eat roughly 1 cup (as best as I can eyeball it), etc.

my husband and i spent a week in jamaica and to my surprise, i came back exactly the same weight. we squeeze in 4 work outs while we were there. but if exercise isn't an option, all about portion control.

It depends. By nature, French people are slim to skinny - they cook from scratch and don't do ready meals etc. and I don't think they snack a lot so you should be fine if you're staying with a traditional family there. If you're sorting out all your own food then keep on using MFP and log it as best you can.
