First day of exercise

After reading posts and reviews of 30DS which said it was really intense, I decided to get Jillian Michael's For Beginners set. Is there anything about two steps down from that? Only made it through circuit 3 of 6, and I didn't complete everything in those three circuits.
In summary - worked out for 15 minutes.. almost died, but survived. So I suppose that makes a good first day.

Walking is great for people just starting out.0

We ALL have to start somewhere. The first time I did JM's 30DS, I couldn't make it all the way through without stopping. But by the fourth time, I could. Just keep at it, and before long, you will see marked improvement in your endurance.0

Walk at Home by Leslie Sansone is beginner thru intermediate. Beginners just keep arms down, lower knees, smaller side steps ... here's a clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnsfbneFQ_8&feature=related
The video clip is all cardio ... but there are some DVDs with beginner strength training .... Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan. This one is programable ... just program the amount that (miles, strength sections) you are ready for.0 -
It wasn't the strength exercises that killed me - it was the cardio! The squats were almost easy; I could have done two sets of each. Once I got to the third set of jumping jacks though... dear lord kill me now. I eventually just did marching in place and a bunch of resting in between.
Note to self - postpone eating until after workout.0 -
I think you did great for your first day. My first days of 'exercising' included lots of walking to get used to the activity. The next few I added in things like jumping jacks and pushups/situps... then finally after about 2 weeks, I started the 30 Day Shred. It still kicked my butt the first day and I did all the sets/reps a few less than I was supposed to... but, I think I would have done worse had I not started walking and doing all that other stuff first. Maybe try adding a little of that in to get your body used to all the activity.0
