I'm not sure if you have the same problem, but I'm one of these people who's GREAT all week and as soon as Friday at 5 hits, all bets are off. Eating is such a huge part of socialization on weekends. What tips and suggestions can you provide for me that have worked for you? I'm hoping to have a good weekend this time!!

I am with you on this one! My biggest challenge is weekends because my husband and I like to go out to eat for date nights, and we like to see our friends and have get togethers. We are both doing the Power 90, so we still make sure we get our exercise in even over the weekend because you have to work out 6 days a week with that program. Before we were on it, I refused to exercise over the weekend because weekends are for relaxation!! The hubby and I still go out to eat for date night on Friday or Saturday, but we choose restaurants that offer healthy options. Also, before we go out, if I know where we'll be going I come on here and look at what I have left for calories..then I plug in different restaurant foods and see what the calorie content is for different restaurant meals, and I plan according to that. I choose something I will have enough calories for. We've also cut back on the alcohol. I was always one to get 1 or 2 margaritas with our dinners, but now I just do water. Weekends are also a great time to get outdoor activity in that is fun!! Hikes, walks, tennis, swimming (especially with summer coming!), etc. We do things that allow us to be active, but they're things that we ENJOY doing together....very important!! If we get together with friends, I make foods that are healthier...veggie trays are always good and yummy, baked snacks as opposed to fried, etc.
It's been an adjustment, but I'm feeling much better about my choices! I will search on here for restaurant meals that I used to eat and it absolutely disgusts me...you wouldn't believe the calorie content in restaurant food!!! ugh. I try to plan out what I'll be eating for the day in the morning so that I can make adjustments as I go!! We still enjoy the weekends, but we're more conscious about how we're enjoying it!!0 -
Planning!
If you're looking forward to a "favorite" meal, you're much more likely to make better choices for other meals...think "I'd rather..." to ensure you have enough calories left in your budget for what you really want.
If you know you're going out; eat lighter at other meals...you might even build a little reserve throughout the week by eating 50-100 fewer calories each day. Start Saturday/Sunday with a more intense work-out to add calories to the bank.
Research healthy options before you go, so you know what you're going to order before you get tempted by the menu.
Share an entree or ask for a to-go box at the beginning of the meal, and box up half before you start eating. Drink water between bites to slow yourself down. Stop when you're full, and either add to your to-go box, or put your napkin over your plate to prevent "picking."0 -

That is great advice, thanks for the tip!0 -
I try to put in extra cardio on Saturdays, with the knowledge that Sundays are typically days I cheat. So if I plan on eating more than normal on a Saturday I try to work that difference off. The key is to accurately track and know where you are.0
