Cheat Meals

I've been using MFP for about three weeks and I really love it. I have a question though, what do you guys do if you have a 'cheat meal'? Do you log it as acurately as you can and still try to stay under your calorie limit for the day or do you just let it go and make up for it the rest of the week?
Before MFP I would log all the food I ate and I ate really clean but I would still indulge in a weekly 'cheat meal'.

I always log all my food. If I have a cheat meal I usually try to workout really hard that day to make up for it. I love to eat so I always try to workout really hard so I can eat more. Not just for a cheat meal but every day!0

When I have a cheat meal I log it as accurately as possible. I don't try to stay under my calorie limit for the day and I don't try to make it up throughout the week. It's my cheat meal and I try to enjoy it and not get too hung up on it. But with that being said, I'm very close to my goal and am trying not to get hung up on my calories (as I used to do) because I don't want to log everything I eat for the rest of my life. Meaning, I'm trying to learn to make smart choices without calorie counting so I'm not so dependent on MFP.0

I like that approach. If I'm going to splurge i want to enjoy it. So far I've been able to have some cheat items and still fly under the radar with calories. On days when I know we're going out to dinner I'll try to get a really good workout in the morning and then have a light breakfast and lunch.
I've found that I really like to have a calorie reserve at night so I can snack a little bit. Healthy snacks of course.0 -
I don't track my cheat meals. I only eat one cheat meal a week and it hasn't caused me any issues with my weight loss.0
