Disney World Marathon In January

Anyone else out there doing the Disney world marathon next year? I am this will be marathon #7 for me but the first 6 were like 7 years ago. I am getting discouraged because I remember what I used to do and now I am starting to have shin splints and they are painful any advise would be appreciated.
